We are currently looking for a positive, energetic person to lead the Family Ministries area. Family Ministries consists of ministries for our kids ranging from nursery age to 5th grade.

This leader will have overall responsibility for giving the children of our church a worshipful experience and helping them to grow in Christ. This leader will also have direct responsibility of Family Ministries (nursery through 5th grade) and all children’s activities at the church. Will be responsible for planning and holding regular Family Ministries team meetings with the volunteer leaders. Will prepare and manage the ministry’s budget. Must be able to recruit, coach, develop and mentor volunteers for the ministry area.

Ideally, the leader will have experience growing a children’s and family ministry in a large church environment, and will have proven ways to help incorporate the entire family in the ministry through worship, teaching and service.

This candidate will work closely with the leader of our youth area to coordinate church-wide programs. Also, this candidate will work closely with other ministry leaders in the church to provide a comprehensive and integrated ministry for the children of our church.

Skills: Leadership experience in the areas of children’s ministry required. Must have a proven ability to recruit, retain and develop people for volunteer service opportunities within the Family Ministries area. Excellent team-based leadership abilities and exceptional communication and organizational skills are needed. Great relational skills with people of all ages and situations, and the ability to work in and contribute to an overall staff team environment will be key.

Education and experience: Bachelors degree in related field and paid staff experience in large church setting. Proven track record of successful recruitment/equipping/training of unpaid servants (volunteers).

Executive Producer of Worship and Special Programs

This person is responsible for producing and directing all aspects of regular worship services and special programs, such as special seasonal services (e.g. Christmas, Easter) and plenary sessions of resourcing conferences. We are based in Minneapolis and have 78 sites throughout the United States, Canada and Puerto Rico. Post-college and college age staff are needed to lead these sites. Recruit, cast, prepare, and train the Kidz Drama, Praise, Teaching, Video, Set/Prop, and Technology teams.
Coordinate pre-production planning with all teams 30 days out to include:
Schedule and lead Wed. production meetings and cue reviews for all teams. Conduct Wednesday rehearsals as needed.
Conduct Sunday morning rehearsals for Drama, Praise, Teaching, Video, and Tech teams.
Coordinate the occasional production of video vignettes by the Video team to be used for teaching in the weekly large group productions.

Large Group Production Execution, Evaluation, and Sharing – Manage and direct the work of all six teams (Drama, Praise, Teaching, Video, A/V, and Tech) in the live production of Kidz Zone large groups to include live drama, music, teaching, audio, video, and lighting. Do you have a heart for working with troubled teens?  New Horizons Youth Ministries (www.nhym.org) is hiring a counselor to work at Escuela Caribe, its therapeutic boarding school in Jarabacoa, Dominican Republic.  Escuela Caribe serves wayward American youth, so  you will work in English.  Jarabacoa is a beautiful town in the central mountains of Hispaniola.

The ideal candidate should possess a Masters Degree from an accredited four year university in counseling, social work, or a related field. Professional accreditation/licensing and professional organization membership is desired but not required. All employees of New Horizons Youth Ministries must fully understand the focus of NHYM and be supportive of same prior to employment. An initial two year commitment is also required.

Primary responsibilities for this position will include counseling 12 to 15 teenagers/students during 50 min. weekly sessions and facilitating weekly group counseling sessions. This position demands good interpersonal and professional communication skills (written and verbal with proficiency in Microsoft Word) and ability to effectively present supportive information in group settings and to other entities. All treatment plans (initial & reviews), social histories, assessments, psychological reviews, counseling notes, etc. will be completed as necessary. Participation in weekly or otherwise scheduled Case Conferences is required. As a student advocate, the counselor is expected to communicate ongoing concerns as well as insights of students to other members of the Treatment Team. The counselor will also participate in other program activities, retreats, and on special events as requested. The ability to work closely with others on a personal and professional level within a small Christian community located in the Dominican Republic is a must. Escuela Caribe (EC) is an English-speaking boarding school in the Dominican Republic for under-achieving American youth. EC is seeking a retired or semi-retired pastor or chaplain who would be interested in assisting with discipleship, preaching, music ministry (if possible), spiritual counseling, and other tasks on a short-term basis (3-6 months).

Job Description

The duties of our Pastor include, but are not limited to::

  • Plan and lead worship on Sunday mornings in conjunction with the Minister of Music
  • In conjunction with the various church committees, provide vision and leadership for ministries of service to the community and world at large
  • Direct the work of religious education for all ages
  • Facilitate the growth of the church
  • Supervise staff
  • Administer the Sacraments to the congregation
  • Visit with and minister to the sick and shut-ins
  • Conduct pastoral counseling sessions
  • Perform weddings and funerals
  • Sit on the Church Council as an ex officio member
