Elderly Care Assistant May 5, 2009

Hello!  I am a graduate of the seminary, and I am currently working for the Department of Kentucky Medicaid.  I have a client who is moving out of the nursing home, probably first of June, and she is going to need someone to go in daily and give her personal care, do some cleaning, fix meals, and see that she gets her medications.  And to top it off, she is from the Ukraine and only speaks Russian.  I happened to think of Asbury students/spouses who are often looking for part time jobs in the area.  She will be living in Nicholasville.  We have a lady who is also from the Ukraine who is going to be the primary caregiver, but we will need a few people who can be back-ups for this lady, in case of emergency or illness and on her days off.  The hours would be either 7-9am or 5-9pm.  In the morning they would be getting her ready to go to the Adult Day Care, in the evening putting her to bed.  She has had a stroke and cannot use her right side, and she weighs over 200 lbs, so the caregivers need to be strong.  We would train them to do her care.

I thought it might be a special opportunity for someone who has interest in the Ukraine for mission work.  Of course, we would be interested in anyone.  They do not have to speak Russian, but may have the opportunity to learn some along the way.  They would have to go through a background check as well.  The pay would be $11.50 an hour.  They do not have to have a certification or state registration as a nursing assistant.

You can email me or call as below if you have any questions or if someone is interested.  Thanks so much!
